Any way to change password of user through SOAP API without old password info

You can use GetAccountRequest e.g.: <GetAccountRequest attrs="zimbraId" xmlns="urn:zimbraAdmin"> <account by="name">for@pan.local</account> </GetAccountRequest> <GetAccountResponse xmlns="urn:zimbraAdmin"> <account name="for@pan.local" id="101a7...

Any way to change password of user through SOAP API without old password info

SetPasswordRequest is the API request that allows an Admin to change a user's password without knowing the original. That is documented at the URLs in my previous reply. Do a search in the bottom left frame of the API reference for "SetPassword"

You can use the ZimbraAdmin SetPasswordRequest SOAP API. See http://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/SOAP_API_Reference_Material_Beginning_with_ZCS_8.0 which leads to https://files.zimbra.com/docs/soap_api/8.5.0/api-reference/index.html if your version is 8.5.0.

How to get a list of contact folders

You could use the SOAP API's GetFolderRequest to get a list of Contacts folders (or all folders, or all calendar folders...) See http://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/SOAP_API_Reference_Material_Beginning_with_ZCS_8.0 which has a link to: https://files.zimbra.com/docs/soap_api/8.5.0/api-reference/index.ht...

Zimbra 8.0.7 OSE and Thunderbird/Lightning integration

Ah. ics is a read only mechanism, so you can't make updates that way. You need to use CalDAV. Thunderbird with Lightning actually configure for CalDAV in a slightly unusual way in that you have to configure each calendar individually instead of just specifying the account. You will need to speci...

It should work.  It may be worth switching on tracing on the server to make sure Lightning is actually communicating properly there:

Zimbra 8.5.1 Bug Timezone Calendar

I'm not 100% sure of the root cause of these issues are a few bug fixes related to the new Russian timezones in the upcoming 8.6 release which may help. 2 that I'm aware of are:

CardDav not saving new contacts from external access.

This is Bug https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=84246 - Create Contact via CardDAV requires If-None-Match header. Those clients are not specifying an If-None-Match header and Zimbra is requiring that header - although it is a SHOULD rather than a MUST in RFC6352 the specification for CardDAV.

Understanding SOAP documentation

This worked for me: # zmsoap -z -t account -m user4@pan.local ChangePasswordRequest/account=user4@pan.local @by=name ../oldPassword=test123 ../password=yo Notes: The value of @by needs to be one of adminName|appAdminName|id|foreignPrincipal|name|krb5Principal The first user4@pan.local is the account...
