Re: Zimbra won't shutdown - Stopping zimlet webapp fails

pkill -9 zimbra did NOT help.

Re: After upgrade to 8.8.8 DNS-cache does not work when zimbra down

Ok, it's clear. dnscache is started by zmcontrol and thus also stopped by it.

Oh my.

Re: After upgrade to 8.8.8 DNS-cache does not work when zimbra down

Does anyone know what process runs zimbra-dnscache? Maybe this one: /bin/bash /opt/zimbra/bin/zmdnscachectl status norewrite After I bring Zimbra down for the backup, I do a 'pkill -9 zimbra' just 'to be sure'. Maybe the process now has zimbra in it's name, and thath's why it's killed. It would make...

Re: After upgrade to 8.8.8 DNS-cache does not work when zimbra down

Thanks for the answers.
But this is new behaviour in 8.8.8, it wasn't like that in earlier versions. Should I file a bug?

After upgrade to 8.8.8 DNS-cache does not work when zimbra down

I discovered the following: Since the upgrade from 8.7 to 8.8 the dns resolver doesn't work if zimbra is down. At least, that is my assessment at the moment. The server uses 127.0.0.1 as dns resolver. This is zimbra dns cache, right? When making a backup, I bring zimbra down, do the backup, and brin...

Re: How does HTTP IP based throttling exactly works?

In a similar setup, where I use Z-push with Zimbra Backend, it turned out that I needed to use the hostname in the Z-push configuration. In other words, zimbraHttpThrottleSafeIPs works only for `zmhostname` iin case of failed logins. So I go a lot of Access denied on the IP number, which was in Z-pu...

Account listed as inactive but is checked every day via another account.

In the 'search' for 'inactive accounts (30 days)' the account abc@example.com shows up. Last login time was 45 days ago. But, another account, xyz@example.com, has configured the abc account via preferences, so this account is being read every day. Now, I want to lock inactive accounts, but this acc...

Re: I guess the Zimbra Wiki might be down.

Thanks for moving my post around.

I did read the rest op the topic.

I seem not to be able to distill an answer from it.

All I see is white pages.

Maybe, technically, it's not 'down', but I would like to read the wiki instead of seeing white pages.

Thanks for any answers!

Domain-wide disclaimers / Signatures, and From:

When u are using domain-wide disclaimers, the disclaimers get chosen by the From: address. We have a setup where we have various sub domains, but they all need to appear to be from the main domain. So, mail from a.user@department1.example.com needs to come from a.user@example.com We do that via this...
