Send message as "Urgent"

Is there any way to vote *against* a bug?If something is urgent, say so in the subject line, or find a way to reduce the volume of your mail (RSS, Wikis) such that messages don't need to be marked "urgent" to be read. Look how many spammers flag their messages X-MSMail-Priority: High.(...

ZWC "search folder and subfolders"?

I have over a decade of sent-mail in my Zimbra account, mostly broken up by Pine into monthly chunks, such as sent-mail-sep-2001.I've made all of those historical mailboxes subfolders of Sent, which makes sense to me. I don't want to merge everything into Sent, because if I ever pointed Outl...

Looking for ZWC "cruise mode" productivity

I believe Conrad and I overlapped at Stanford for a little while, so actually, we have met. :-)
Good to hear. I'd assume that anyone who grew up with any of the historical UNIX MUAs (elm, pine, mutt, emacs, mm) would find the things I mentioned annoying.

Auto-provisioning calendar data/shared calendars

So, at long last, we've made a decision to license Zimbra for our 3000-some users, just as UW-Milwakee did for their 65,000 users. See https://apps.carleton.edu/campus/its/assets/Email_Calendar_Report.pdf and Carleton">https://www4.uwm.edu/imt/about/news/zimbra/index.cfmCarleton College wil...

Looking for ZWC "cruise mode" productivity

ZWC is beautiful, but using it as my primary client, I'm finding some of the interaction patterns frustratingly slow in practice. A lot of it comes down to wanting certain features of Pine's "cruise mode," which is designed to speed up the process of reading/deleting/filing a whole...

Upgrading from 4.5.4 to 4.5.5

Upgrade is done and things appear to work, but I notice these in mailbox.log. /dev/null'ing an email address

To reiterate more simply:
You need to use the postalias binaries and the postfix config files located in /opt/zimbra, not in /usr and /etc.

Upgrading from 4.5.4 to 4.5.5

I ran into two problems attempting to upgrade from 4.5.4 to 4.5.5, and the mention above of MySQL password convinced me to abort until a later scheduled downtime.First problem:The code if ! cat /etc/hosts | perl -ne 'if (/^s*d+.d+.d+.d+s+(S+)/ && !/^s*127.0.0.1/) { my @foo = split (/./,$...

The postfix config files you're looking for live in /opt/zimbra/postfix/conf. I'm not sure about the "right" way to make changes that will persist across Zimbra upgrades, but once you find the config files, Zimbra's installation of postfix can be configured just like any other....

Disable saved password?

I understand that's just an example. If you want to prioritize this in any way, come up with a better example.Sorry if this rant sounds like it's directed at you. It's directed at the software industry more generally.Password prompts for desktop email programs may be considered what Schn...
