Installing Zimbra on a preview Server running apache and PHP
I've never tried setting Zimbra up with less than a full install. Wanted to once, but decided that it wasn't worth the trouble. Like I said before, you'd probably do better setting it up on a dedicated server. I know that if you have both Apache and Zimbra running, only one of them can u...

installing on ubuntu 6.06
The guide you found is quite good as well - it is what I used the first time I set Zimbra up. As for adding the appropriate DNS records, your DNS registrar's technical support can probably help. That's where I got my advice for DNS.

Installing Zimbra on a preview Server running apache and PHP
The short answer is, no, it's not worth the hassle. (I think) the long answer is yes, but if you are just tasting Zimbra, do yourself a favor: use a dedicated server for it. If you don't have one, you can use a virtual machine. VMWare Server is free, regardless of what operating system you a...

Can't open folder
I saw something similar this morning - Except that it was an E-mail, not a folder, and it actually threw an error this time. As instructed, I loaded Zimbra up in debug mode, and here's the error:Body: { Fault: { Code: { Value: "soap:Receiver" }, Detail: { Error: { Code: "service.F...

Backup/restore differences between NE and OS versions
OK, I agree, your most recent comment did seem more well thought through. As for the blog post, it made interesting reading, and indeed, I agree that the "Zimbra Powered" clause in the (now YPL) license effectively neuters any attempt to fork the product. That is, in fact, my primary objec...

Backup/restore differences between NE and OS versions
Source code's here. Doesn't get more open source than that. If there's a feature you think is missing in the open source version (like hot backup and restore), write the feature. You then have several options, from my understanding of the license: you can share it (best), horde it (worst...

Hmm. Looks like it will be fixed in 5.0.2. Hopefully I won't see this one again. Thanks!

Can't open folder
Umm...now I can't reproduce it - but what you are saying seems to be good advice for anything with the web client. Anyway, not being able to reproduce it means that it's solved, I guess. I'll keep your info gathering/troubleshooting technique tucked away in my pocket, however, and I'...

Can't open folder
Hi. I have a user who is trying to open up his "Sent" folder, and can't. I logged in as him at a different location, using a different OS, and got the same result. All of the other folders open up fine, and if you hover over the folder name, it displays the details of the contents of t...
