[SOLVED] Relocation/Partitioning

And ever since my first install, /opt/zimbra has been a symlink to /appl/zimbra509 (or what have you), made before the install started, and I have never, personally, had a single problem that I could attribute to that, though they tell me YMMV. :-)

[SOLVED] Interesting Internal DNS conflict

This thread's ancient. but I'll answer it anyway: The port 80 Web Client *isn't running under Apache*, and I don't think the admin interface is either; the apache is only for the spell checker.
The other ports are handled by Java code.

[SOLVED] Diary of a Newbie 5 - The Actual Migration

And for what it's worth -- and my apologies for never quite finishing the wiki page; I haven't worked there for a year -- it did work out properly; build all the accounts, forward each one to the exchange server (by IP address, IIRC), then swing the mx, confirm that all mail is passing throu...

Installation ZCS7 on virtual Server: Java-problems

Well, as it happens, I too am trying to install 7.1CE in an OpenVZ guest, and I can't get it to run right either -- and my max privvmpages amounts to 2.5GB or RAM.I'm going to try his "turn down the size of the JVM" trick, I think, and see what happens, but I also note that I have ...

Zimbra Desktop as default email client

The ability to make Zimbra the default email client has been an open bug for at least a year, maybe two. I believe that was ZWC, though I wouldn't be surprised to find that there was a bug for ZD as well -- it *might* be easier to do for ZD, but I'm assuming here that they haven't.

Simple backup script for OSE version

I do want to make one very important terminological point, here:If you have to restore *more than one of them*, they're not "differentials"; they're "incrementals".That's precisely the difference: an incremental is based on *the previous backup*.A differential is base...

Installation of Zimbra CS 7.1.0 Open Source Edition

I'm pretty sure the answer is "you absolutely need root access to Unix to install Zimbra"; "webspace" -- which it sounds like you have, cause you're mentioning Cpanel -- will *not* be good enough to get it done.A Virtual Private Server is the minimum, I think, and Zimbra&...

Installation of Zimbra CS 7.1.0 Open Source Edition

That will probably be troublesome. I was unable to get 6.0CE to work reliably on a *dedicated* VPS server, where I have root; giving it enough memory to install, much less run, would have pushed my bill up to the point where I'd have been better off renting an actual dedicated server.

6.0.9CE gives 554 5.7.1 Relaying Denied even with SMTP-TLS/465

The logs say that the connection is "Anonymous", even though the client log (from k-9 for Android) shows that the client is AUTHing and Zimbra's accepting it; because of this, I can't send email out via port 465; it bounces. (Which interacts critically badly with the noted bug in k...
