stopped zimbra, backed up /opt/zimbra, upgraded ubuntu(ran into some snags took about 2 hrs), upgraded zimbra just worked.
Only issue is that all of my customers are sending me emails complaining of huge influx of spam.

I just upgraded from ubuntu 6.06 to 8.04 and 5.02 to 5.09. The upgrade went very smoothly (thank you!)
However the next morning everyone was complaining about a massive influx of spam. How can I solve this? (I had about 50 messages as opposed to the normal 5 or so)

I want a guide that takes you through a distribution upgrade directly from 6.06 to 8.04! :D

Ok I'm trying to find out where to get the svn version to compile and install on my system. I want DnD functionality I know it's working now.

I thin you are experimenting with exactly what I was envisioning.
local cold backup (small downtime)

restart zimbra, tar, ssh to host:/backup

has anyone fitured out how to modify to go over ssh with a pre-authenticated key? something like ssh -vaz /path/to/backup domain.name:/backup/

I haven't had time to try the script but ssh and rsync over ssh I have working fine on a few systems without ssh passkey's.
