Re: How to monitor Zimbra using pflogsumm and NET-SNMP-EXTEND

I have a small server with low traffic, just for my own sites. But I really want to monitor my ZCS environment and get notified as soon as anything needs attention. I searched this forum for "SNMP" and found almost no info. So thank you very much for your effort on this FOSS. I looked over...

Re: Subject editing based on email headers...

From Mr Clueless Observer: If I understand correctly, the challenge here is to modify the header/subject after reading through the header? I've read in various places about : 1) pre-processing with a milter: http://www.postfix.org/postconf.5.html#milter_header_checks 2) using cleanup before mail ent...

Re: Transferring PST File to Zimbra

I'm transferring from Outlook 2010 to Zimbra FOSS Edition now. I've also been searching recently. I have found many answers. Unfortunately a lot of them seem vague and incomplete, but mostly they're just outdated. I'm going to try to summarize this topic, explaining the confusion, and the current av...

INVALID_SEARCH_FILTER

I'm a ZCS admin reporting an issue here, cuz there doesn't seem to be any other place for us to report issues. In the admin browser UI, I was trying to search for aliases under a specific domain. So in Home > Search, click Aliases to see all of them, then under Search Options click Domains and selec...

Re: i need help with snmp stopped zmswatch is not running

While doing some testing, I used "sudo mv" to rename zimbra.log. It seems this software doesn't like for us to pull the rug out from under it. :o Solution: Do whatever you do to become the zimbra user: zmcontrol stop sudo touch /var/log/zimbra.log sudo chmod zimbra:zimbra /var/log/zimbra.l...

Re: blacklist a domain extension

As to the location for rules, from this Zimbra wiki page and the notes by Mark Stone, I have been under the impression that any .cf file under /opt/zimbra/data/spamassassin/localrules will be incorporated into processing when we 'zmamavisdctl restart'. So it's no longer one file like sauser.cf. You ...

Re: blacklist a domain extension

I STRONGLY request that the list of TLDs suggested by @JDunphy be reconsidered. For the last few years I've been encouraging site owners to venture away from the classic TLDs, .com and .net, and to consider new domains from within the hundreds of TLDs now available. I personally run sites with email...

Re: Rspamd: A replacement for Spamassassin & Postscreen

I've read every word of this 19 page thread. I've read through the wiki page . I've taken a Lot of notes in preparation for what turns out to be a rather trivial initial switch. I've been eager to try out Rspamd, but I don't think I'm ready. For all of its faults, SpamAssassin is already built-in an...

Re: Brute force attack

Ha! Old habit from Windows ... and DOS. Really though, and this is on-topic with all-things Zimbra ... Now with fail2ban in place and IPTables holding the IPs of bad actors, the next step in protecting against known offenders BEFORE they attempt to brute force the email server. My next goal is to rs...

Re: Brute force attack

Over the weekend I started tracking down a similar situation. Did a lot of reading, sifted through a lot of old/bad info, added the oip to the log, setup fail2ban, had to tweak the filter, nailed my first badguy. Also setup fail2ban to save the iptables so that they are refreshed on system restart ....
