Default Upgrading to ZCS 3.0 (and fedora core 4)

I am thinking about installing Zimbra, but I am unsure about versions. ZCS 3.0 is scheduled to be released in a month or two. Normally I would just install the present stable release, and upgrade as things are released. But this concerned me on the download page:

Warning: If you are already running Zimbra's Milestone 1 (M1) beta release, To install M2 you will need to uninstall M1 first, which means a loss of data (messages, appointments, and contacts).
So, if I install the present release, will I have problems upgrading (losing data) when the time comes?

A similar question applies to Fedora core 4--it is in beta now. Is there a targeted release date ? (I know that really *should* go in anther thread!)

    Many thanks

    Default Upgrade path

Fedora core is more or less always in beta - but I think FC4 is stable (isn't FC5 in the release-candidate stage?)

As for zimbra upgrades - if you install M2, you'll have an upgrade path. The no-upgrade path was the 2nd worst decision we made, and we've learned our lesson. (For the worst decision, search for "iptables" in the forums )

    Great, and thanks.

I think my question was not clear. It was about Zimbra for Fedora Core 4--Zimbra for Binary Fedora Core 4 labeled "Alpha release - limited testing complete", not the beta version of Fedora the OS.

In other words, I was planning to install Zimbra on Fedora Core 4, and wondered about its official support.

    Many thanks

    Default Support

Support for the open-source version is through the community, largely via the forums. The network edition includes support, but is currently only available for RH ES 4.
