Just a thought because...I couldn't log into our Zimbra server this morning.

I thought it was the browser, but that checked out. I even (gasp!) rebooted and nothing. Then, I noticed the Java Runtime Environment update was available, so I ran it. Immediate after it was done, I was able to log in.

Anyway...I thought that I would throw it out there.

    Angry Same problems

I am getting the same problem when I use zimbra from IE (6) ... firefox is fine. I am looking at using the Zimbra ajax toolkit as the basis for an application my team is building but without a working demo of the frameworks capabilities it will be tough to convince people that Zimbra/Ajax framework is the way to go. Any help here would be appreciated!

    Default New information

Can you verify that IE has HTTP 1.1 enabled? Apparently this setting can disable gzipped content.

    Default Got it!

Marc, indeed HTTP 1.1 was enabled ... however, there is a separate setting for HTTP 1.1 through a proxy (which is how we're accessing the 'real' world here). Once I enabled this setting everything works nicely ... thanks much!!!

    Default Working now...

Interestingly (despite not changing anything), the demo started working on my machine. I was having the same problems on multiple machines and multiple browsers. Each of the machines were fully up-to-date with patches. I'm not complaining--at least it is working now.

    Thanks.

    Hi,

I have the very same problem, but only with IE 6.0.
Firefox is OK but I'm using 1.0.2.

It's a shame because I'm trying to demonstrate the impressive user interface but people are immediately skeptical when I tell them they have to use Firefox not IE (IE is the standard in the company).

    Any help would be appreciated.

Well, the demo does work with IE6 and I'm using it now. Have you made the changes to the HTTP settings listed above? Did it make any difference?
    Regards

We plan to have a new build out early next week to correct this problem. You may be able to workaround it with IE by checking that HTTP 1.1 is enabled. There are certian network configs with like Squid or other HTTP proxies where this setting will still not work. In those case you'll need to wait until early next week.
