I know this has formatting issues of its own -- not least with IE web pages, but have you tried 1024 x 768 but with large fonts?

We have done some testing with 1024x768 and large fonts. The issue with this setting is that while it may help people with vision issues in other spots, it does nothing to the size of the Zimbra screen. Even changing the "Text Size" setting within IE does nothing to the Zimbra text.

Not sure what to do on this one. The minimum resolution for the web client was clearly stated as being 1024x768 even before the upgrade to version 5. However, lesser resolutions mostly worked prior to the upgrade. Beyond the vision issue, as was previously suggested, a lot of mobile/UMPC's do not have support for 1024x768. I know the "mobile client" is available in version 5, but while I like this client, it is just not the same as the full-blown client (no access to the GAL is a killer for me).

This probably means Zimbra's CSS uses pixel sizing for interface text, rather than a relative, scalable unit such as em. Firefox and other browsers will scale pixel fonts, but IE doesn't.

I am new to Zimbra and running 5.0.11_GA_2695.RHEL5_64_20081117021643 CentOS5_64 NETWORK edition. I also ran into this issue with users running 800x600 and finding that the "Advanced" interface was not very functional for them because the vertical scroll bar on the right hand side of the screen was absent as well as the "Log Out" button. In order to work around this problem, I have removed the Yahoo_Local Zimlet and also the Yahoo Internet search bar. The vertical scroll bar now appears as well as the "Log Out" button. I also adjusted the 800x600 redirect settings so that users with a lower screen resolution can log into the "Advanced" interface by default. I have also voted for Bug 23449.
