Need More Storage
Hi there. I am sure there is some really easy solution that I just am completely unaware of.
My QUOTA box is always full, and I do not have the time to go through each and every email I get to choose what needs to be deleted to make room. I have had to start deleting stuff from my SENT files, as well as my inbos almost three times a week, to make more room!
Help me please!
Well, who set the quota? :-)
Are you the domain (or server) administrator? If so, you should be able to set a higher (or unlimited) quota for yourself.
If you're just a peon user, then you'll have to beg your admin.
If you're *paying* for the mailbox somewhere, you can almost certainly give your provider more money, and they'll give you more quota.
set up your current email with outlook, download for example all emails older than X date to your computer. Now you can either save these emails on your computer OR do the following:
set up free gmail account, set it up for imap use in outlook
click and drag emails that you downloaded from the folder in outlook's personal folders to your gmail account within outlook. Your files are then saved, for ever and for free, on gmail's 7GB and growing email account, accessible from anywher.
BTW Yahoo Mail is unlimited storage - even for free accounts.
Anyways, as this is in the Desktop section - beta 4 will support local folders.
(Moving to ZCS users section.)
ymail is unlimited but with crappy and proprietary imap support, making syncing more difficult than with gmail
Desktop may support offline folders but ive learnt the hard way not to trust offline backups to a beta product
