Default Does Zimbra offer mail templates?

    Hello,

we are looking to find something like "mail templates" in Zimbra.

E.g. that a user can only click/use a mail template, change some few words and send
the mail without the need to compose the whose mail from scratch..

    Question:
Does ZCS offer something like mail templates?

Thank's a lor for any feedback.

    John

unfortunately not, past signatures. disclaimers/templates have been requested many times but as yet there is zero interest from zimbra on either. disclaimer RFE has been marked as targetted for 6.0 but no visible activity on implementing it yet.

Actually there is kind of a template option in Zimbra. Compose your email and send it so someone (you can probably just send it to yourself). Create a new folder called Templates, or something that is meaningful to you. Now go to the Sent folder, find the "template" message that you just sent and move/copy it to your new Templates folder (or whatever you called it). You don't technically have to do this step, but it will make it easier to find the next time you want to use the "template". When you are ready to use your template, go to your Templates folder, find the "template" message, right-click on it, and select Edit as New.

A bit roundabout, but definitely useable.

    HTH,

    Talking Template options

I was so glad that 5.0.9 restored the "Edit as New" function--I have used it alot, and I consider the period between 5.0.6 to 5.0.9 the 'dark time'.

With that in mind, and to extend some of what soxfan said, you can:
    1. Create or nominate a user to be the template manager
    2. The template manager creates or copies emails into a template folder
    3. The template manager can share out the template folder, and you can give "View" only access if you don't want the folder modified by general users
    4. After accepting the share, users can go to the folder and right-click on the desired template and select "Edit as New"
    5. Et Voilà!

It worked for me just now, YMMV.

    Enjoy!
