    Default [SOLVED] Please save me from Control-S

    In all windows apps, and in most linux apps, ^s means save (or search in emacs). On macs is usually means nothing, but apple-s usually means save. Unfortunately, Zimbra irrevocably binds ^s to the world's most dangerous action: SEND !!!!!!!! I can't count the number of messages that I've sent half-way through because my brain said "save" (as draft), my fingers did ^s, and Zimbe did ... Ahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!! Noooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Please tell me that some future imagined zimbra makes the send bidning user-settable, or allows you to put a protecting confirmation in the way of sending (via ^s), or binds something other than ^s...or ANYTHING to save us from this really really poor choice of shortcuts!

    Welcome to the forums

    Please check Bugzilla Main Page to see if this has been raised, and if not then feel free to file a RFE (Request For Enhancement).

    As a user is there a way of disabling Ctrl s as send or reassigning it so that it does something else, or even for a dailogue box to pop up and say 'are you sure you want to send', or spell check automatically starts, anything other than send (ctrl-s should be save!).

    That RFE is fixed in the upcoming ZCS 5.0.14 (and subsequent future ZD releases).

    The new keys are:
    CTRL+S: save draft
    CTRL+Enter: send message

    Currently you can set:
    /opt/zimbra/mailboxd/webapps/zimbra/WEB-INF/classes/keys/ZmKeys.properties (or respective language)
    zmmailboxdctl restart

    Code:
    compose.Save.display = Ctrl+S
    compose.Save.keycode = Ctrl+83
    compose.Save.description = Save draft
    compose.Save.sort = 30030

    compose.Send.display = Ctrl+Enter
    compose.Send.keycode = Ctrl+13
    compose.Send.description = Send
    compose.Send.sort = 30010
    Others of interest include:
    Code:
    options.Save.display = Ctrl+S
    editContact.Save.display = Ctrl+S
    editPage.Save.display = Ctrl+S
    editTask.Save.display = Ctrl+S
    editAppointment.Save.display = Ctrl+S

    That looks very backend. Is there nothing I can set as a user to prompt me before sending the message, even if it's a spell checker, macro or even a dialogue box to confirm sending?

    What about disabling it from a user perspective, is there a way to do that?

    -5.0.14 is out, check with your system admin on your planned upgrade date; or point them at this page to look into doing the quick ZmKeys.properties modification I've listed above.
    -Mandatory spellcheck before send isn't till 6.0 so can't use that.
    -One could modify the classify check zimlet, the dirty words alerter zimlet, or even the attachment checker zimlet (available in the source/gallery) to essentially do what you want, but they're not user installable, unless your using ZD.
