Default Need help creating email filter with line break in it

Would anyone have any idea how to create an email filter that include a line break?

    example: test
    example: test2

I need to create a filter that keeps "test" but ignores "test2" and the only way I can think of is to have the filter look for "test" with a line break after it.
There will in fact be up to test46. If anyone knows how to filter it, or have an alternate idea, please let me know. thanks!

It appears you are attempting to filter the exact subject "Test" rather than "Test2".

When creating the inbound filter, have you attempted to create it similar to:

If "Any" / Subject / Matches Exactly / Test

Make sure to select do not process any other filters..Does this work?

Testing was done, using the web client, created the above filter and sent two test messages. One with Test as the subject, the other test2. the test subject was redirected to the designated folder i specified.

    Keep me posted.

That helps partially for some of the filtering. Unfortunately part of the filter has the field in the body, not the subject line.

So I can filter by subject line which narrows my field but then I need tp filter by body:

    test
    test1
    test2
    test3
    test4...
    test 48

test needs kept, test1 thru test 48 needs to get filtered.

    Ok,

After some testing i do not see why your filter for the body will not work.

Here is the filter(s) I used to get it to work:

    If "Any" / Body / Contains / Test 4
Move to folder * Test 1

    If "Any" / Body / Contains / Test 48
    Move to folder* test 2

After about 10 test messages with random words in the body, most of them were redirected to the proper folders.

Note: I did notice one incident where a message containing the test 48 and test 4 was directed to the first filter so keep that in mind.

    Hope this helps.

Hey spiderTech, thanks so much. However, I failed to properly communicate. I want to ignore test2 thru test48 and only filter "test"

I do realize I could say /Contains/ test
/ Does not contain test 2/
    /Does not contain test3/

and so on but having to exclude 47 entries would be a very time consuming method to write the filter.

Thanks again though, I really appreciate the assistance.

Unfortunately, creating the filter, for your needs, is going to be a manual process.

    Glad I could help.

Is it possible to export the filter to someone else? That way I can create it and then copy the filter over to someone else who also needs it?

Unfortunately not. The export function only allows exporting of Account data, mail, contacts, calendar, tasks, address book and briefcase.

You can get the filter by running zmprov for the particular account, IIRC, there's a script in the forums to export the filter and allow you to import it into another account.

Thank you for this information. Can you link the forum the script is in? I have performed a search and have not located it.

    Thank You.
