Default Duplicate entries in Global Address List

All of our users have duplicates in the global address list when viewed in outlook except for new users that we add. Users do not apear twice in the users list in the admin console.
It has obviously been an issue previously server side that has been fixed but not rectified. Is there a way to clean out the global address list duplicates?
Even on a new setup, outlook downloads the duplicates, so they are still coming fomr the server somewhere.

    Regards

    Josh

Were you able to solve this problem. We run a zimbra server and our front end client is Outlook 2010, our pervious version did not have the issue. Thanks for any help!
