    Default Post Upgrade issues (Client hang & blank emails)

    Hi

    We reccently upgraded to version 7.2 (Network edition)

    Since then we have experienced 2 seperate issues on a number of occassions.

    Issue 1: The web client will occassionaly hang, particularly when creating / replying to an email. This occurs in both IE8, IE9 and firefox, multiple PC's with different specs.

    Issue 2: Some emails appear to be blank when opening, users can see there are contents as they have the display message snipets enabled in preferences. However if the user switches to a plain text view the contents of the message can be read, and are also available if you use the option 'view original message'.

    We have rebooted the server and reapplied the patch without any success.

    Is anyone else experiencing similar issues ?

    I have also upgraded to 7.2 but it seems to working fine. Were you upgrade from 7.1.3 to 7.2 or from any older version?

    Hi yes

    We were upgrading fro 7.1.3, we had not applied the post 7.1.3 patch upgrade we just went straight to 7.2

    So far there is no correlation between sender, recipient, time, type of mail e.t.c.

    Any thoughts anyone?

    Have you check out the logs ? Is there any error in logs? Please try to to run it in debug mode.

    Update

    Attached are the log fime entries - there is no specific issue shown although I do not have debug on so I will enable that.

    However in testing I have setup thunderbird to connect to the Zimbra server and messages that are blank within the zimbra webclient can be viewed within thunderbird client (in both html or plain text)

    I have also tested the Zimbra desktop client - this has the same result as the zimbra web client (message can't be viewed).

    any other ideas ?

    Well,There is no error in log. It should be in /var/log/zimbra.log, because its java script problem.
    Are you developer ?

    Hi jignesh

    Sorry no I'm not a developer. I have not put the debug on yet (planning for end of core hours today and to restart zimbra services) do you still think this is required?

    Ofcourse not, You don't need to restart the zimbra service.
    You just need to install fire bug tool in firefox and debug the java script code.

    Update to this thread.

    The issue regarding blank emails has been submitted and accepted as a bug Bug 75909 – Blank body of certain emails when in html view, "Ruleset ignored due to bad selector" errors in Firebug.

    I am reposting the issue about the blank emails to seperate the issue out.
