Default search only find whole words ...

how do i search (for example) to "a539-80219-204" if i don't know the whole word or not willing to type so much?
typing the whole string will find some mails.
the manual says that "*80219*" shoul do it - but nope ...
i already reindicated the mailbox - still not working as expected ...

Ofcourse it should work. By the way I have developed one zimlet which will provide you better search. Which Zimbra Edition and version you are using ?

my version is 7.2.0_GA_2669.RHEL6_64_20120410002117 RHEL6_64 NETWORK edition, i would be glad to test your zimlet, we need a better search function ... wonder why it doesn't work in our software ...
i'm also interested in writing zimlets - would be cool to share some skills

    another example that don't work:

searchstring: "*1206656" doesn't find the subject "Faxnachricht von 082181514045 an 03212-1206656"

    searchstring: "03212-1206656" works!

    any system-settings that maybe wrong?
any services missing? (zmcontrol status says all running)

1 step before licensing, but we need a powerful, that means functional, search-function ...
