I installed debian ZCS4.5RC1 onto a sarge VM to explore its capabilities
versus exchange. Default install - everything on one server. It all works
great, and I'm really impressed with the feature set so far.
One feature we need however is the ability to send from multiple domains.
This almost works, but the e-mail always says it comes from "default.com"
which is the default domain I used during install. My setup follows:
In admin I created two additional domains, for a total of three:
Then, I added second.com and third.com to the Virtual Hosts list for default.com.
Then, I create a test user under the default domain, and added two aliases
for that user to get:
Then, I login as firstname.lastname@example.org, and click on options, and create two
new identities in addition to the default one. Call them second.com, and
third.com. In these identities, under the "When I send a message wtih
this identity" settings, I can only pick "email@example.com" from the drop
down list. If I manually set the "reply-to" info, replies go correctly, but
the message still appears to be from "firstname.lastname@example.org" rather than
"email@example.com" or "firstname.lastname@example.org". Is this a bug, or do I have to
create additional servers in addition to additional domains in the admin
tool? And if so, how do I do that - and what is the point of having virtual
