    Default Ginormous e-mail address list

    Hello,

We have recently migrated to Zimbra for our e-mail. One of our users is responsible for sending out an alumnae e-mail newsletter, and has an addressbook of a little over 500 addresses. I have been able to import all those addresses into Zimbra, but I can't see a way to put them all into one contact list. Is there a limit on the number of addresses you can have in one list, or any other way to create such a list? I also thought of breaking the list down, and created several smaller addressbooks, but the web client doesn't seem to want to recognize user-created addressbooks when creating a contact list. We are using version 4.5. Does anyone have any ideas, or should I just give up and use something like Thunderbird to manage this e-mail list? I figure it wouldn't hurt to ask, and I appreciate any help .

    Thanks!

With 4.5, you should be able to create a "Group" which can contain a list of addresses that you can then use to compose messages.

From any view, click on New drop down button and select "Contact Group".

You should be able to create as many Address Books as you want. Go to the Address Book app, and again, click on the New drop down menu and select "Address Book". Once you hit OK, you should see the new Address Book show up in the left pane. You can drag-n-drop contacts from other Address Books to this one.

You can also import via CSV straight into a specific Address Book. Go to Options > Address Book. Browse to the location of the .CSV you want to import and then hit the Import button which will bring up a dialog where you can choose a specific Address Book (or create a new one).
