Default how to properly use zimbra

I'm new to zimbra, and I've been using Eudora for about 10 years. Eudora's IMAP capabilities stink big time. So I've been using the zimbra web interface for the past few days. I'd like to layout how I used to use eudora, and see how do people actually use zimbra.

    EUDORA -
    1) mail comes in
    2) filter moves it to a mailbox
    3) mailbox is opened in eudora, alerting me to new mail from client X
    4) I reply to that message
    5) I close the mailbox, knowing that I've dealt with the issue from that client.

So at any time I know how many things I have going on by looking at what mailboxes are open.

    ZIMBRA -
    1) mail comes in
    2) sits in my inbox
    3) I reply to it
    4) then I have to move it to where it needs to be (this is the step I dont like and takes too much time)

I could use a filter, but I dont want to have to scroll through 400 mailboxes to look for ones that are bold.

Gmail has a good solution, in the sense of searching.

    GMAIL
    1) mail comes in
    2) sits in my inbox
    3) I reply to it.
    4) I click archive. SIMPLE!

How does everyone else manage things day to day?

    Or:

0 - I changed my default initial search to "is:unread"
    1 - mail comes in
2 - filter places it in folder
3 - I log in, and my web client runs my default initial search
4 - my default search shows new mail
5 - I read and reply to it
6 - now it's not unread, so doesn't show in my initial search

    Absolutely brilliant. THANKS!

So that leads me to the filter discussion. Anyway to make filters portable? (aka available via imap)

I have 400 or so filters in eudora.

I'm having to recreate them all in zimbra.

Also unless the filter was there when the mail was delivered, there is no way to filter things that have arrived after I created the new filter. I have to manually move them.

Thanks again though, that tip in itself will save me tons of time.

any docs on how to fully leverage the search?

    in:inbox or is:unread

    Seems to work great.

How do you get back to your initial mail view once you've clicked something?

Or how do you refresh that view easily?

    Thanks!

An update, I've played around with things, and have saved my search query as a saved search and put it under my inbox. So I can quickly refresh it by choosing that item.

Loving Zimbra more and more each day, just hope we continue to put great features in it.

Well, the Get Mail button takes you back to the Inbox, as does the "i" keyboard shortcut. I saved the in:inbox or is:unread search and created a keyboard shortcut to it so "s1" runs that search...

ESC will cancel you out of your current view (e.g. cancel a compose or go from conversation view back to conversation list view). The "Cancel" button will do the same.

    Default windows mobile? Ruh-roh.

With zimbra using filters now to file mail in different folders, combined with using the is:unread filter, everything works great in the webclient.

Today though I was on the road, and was sync'ing via my windows mobile. Any email that came in from person X got filed away, and was never delivered to the windows mobile inbox.

Anyway to get that is:unread filter sent down the wire to my windows mobile? Or how are people handling that situation?

When I traveled before, Eudora was shutdown, therefore not downloading or syncing mail, and no filters are run, and everything piles up in my inbox until I launch it again. So while on the road, all new email was sent down the wire.
