    Default suggestions

    Hi
I've only been using this for 1 month and am used to Outlook, but I have a few suggestions about functions I'd like to see in Zimbra, unless of course they exist and I'm not aware?

It would be fantastic to be able to auto file emails when sending. This saves so much time as now I have to go through sent and file accordingling. I think Lotus has this function.

Calendar - selecting tentative doesn't make the entry look different. What's its purpose?

Also, to be able to edit and add to someone else's calendar entry.

It would be great if when emailing there was an auto spelling function or at least an auto 'I' and capitalisation at the start of sentences.

I'd be grateful if these can be taken on board.
    Thanks, Caroline

    Welcome to the forums.

Suggestions for enhancements are best entered in bugzilla as an RFE (Request For Enhancement), search there first and vote if you find what you need. If there's no entry like your suggestions then file them and vote on them.

You don't say whether your suggestions are for Outlook or the Web UI.
    Regards

    Bill

Accepted, declined, and tentative meetings show up with varying degrees of transparency.
-In making a new appt-see the 'schedule' tab for people's status.
-Also look in the 'schedule mode' and notice the bar on the left is darker based on schedule conflicts.

Also, to be able to edit and add to someone else's calendar entry.
To edit/add they need to give you permission, you probably just have 'view' ability.

    Hi Caroline,

Are you thinking of these to be included in the Web UI? I'm just curious If you are, then I was just wondering why you would want to file or organize "sent" mail. The WebUI has a very robust search feature which would allow you to check your sent email, plus when responses come back you can have everything in conversation view so you would see what you sent anyway

Although this might not suit what you need here's what I've been doing:

    1. Create a mail filter for incoming mail (to sort on who you've sent to or by subject or ANY identifier you can sort it on)
    2. When you get a reply, create a new tag for the message and assign it to that conversation
    3. When you need to recall it, either check the folder the item was sent to upon incoming filter -or- click on your 'tag' link

The other thing is wait until you have enough of a certain type of content in your sent email, then search for it just in that folder, and again create a tag and assign it to those messages. This way all your email stays where it should be and you leverage the power of the application to get you results you craft, rather than just dumping sent email into different folders.

Again this might be right off the mark of what you would like

    Regards,
    Lonny

Eh, I can see where she might want to sort sent mail into folders.
I use IMAP on a non wm5 pda, and keep my inbox strictly for things to do, and send for recent activity that I might have to recall-clean it out every month or so.
(Therefore I can just sync a few folders-a PDA is not going to run a several GB inbox very well...don't say 'storagecard'- it still would be a pain to sync)

I utilize some tagging to give me criticalness/priorities of things to do; but I can't rely on tagging only for some devices. Also if I ever *god forbid* have to move to another solution the mail is sorted.
I rely on the icon's in the web client to tell me at a glance if it was mail I sent.

Good points ... I just wasn't sure what the context was (or if she was using a PDA etc). I'm currently (slowly) working creating custom recipes for OpenSync to have my Opie based iPaq sync mail properly from a copy of my IMAP mail so it'll honor tagging but I have way too many messages in my sent folder so I don't sync it at all ... I sync responses and maintain the thread for now but everyone has different requirements for sure.

    Regards,
    Lonny
