Default Bug with switch to HTML compose?

I've already posted some feedback in the Administrators forum on our small test environment.

This is more from a user perspective reported back to me. Hope it hasn't already been posted (I did a search).

When composing in plain text (our default), if the user decides the change to HTML, anything already typed is wiped without warning.

A user found this the hard way after typing a very lenghthy message only to have in nuked when she decided to insert some bullet points (by switching to HTML compose)

Can you reproduce this everytime? I can't seem to duplicate it here. Are you using new window compose or composing in the web app it self?

I only tried it twice and it happened each time. Was composing in the web app itself.

My machine was using Firefox 1.0 on Ubuntu. The other user was using a newer version of Firefox on Windows XP.

As soon as I switched from text to HTML the edit window instantly cleared without warning.

I believe this bug has been fixed (#4722) but may not have made it to M2 release.

This should only happen the first time a user switches from text to HTML mode in compose view.

Public CVS should have the fix if its really bugging your users (see js/dwt/widgets/DwtHtmlEditor.js)

    Great! Thanks for the info.

I'll make the couple of users we have testing aware of it and just wait for the next release.
