    Default Evolution and latest Zimbra

So what needs to be done to get it to work with Evolution? I've already tried the new /home/username url format. Neither that or the old method work for ics files.

FYI, the stable release (3.0?) from a couple days ago still does not allow Evolution to connect.

What are error are you getting? Did you try putting that URL in a browser to make sure that it produced the .ics data you expect. I'd try that first. Then once oyu know you've got the URL and your user/pass right try to get Evolution to read it.

Entering in as a url works fine. I can get it to work on just about every other client fine as well. The old-style format used to work with Evolution on older versions of Zimbra. I don't get any errors however - it just doesn't update from the server (unless there is some way to get error messages on the backend from evolution). I'll attach the ics file with this post.

I'm trying to get Evolution 2.4.0 on SUSE10 working with the calendar component of Zimbra, and so far have had no joy

If I use webcal://server.domain.com I get the following error from the client:
Error on webcal://server.domain.com: Bad file format

If I use webcal://server.domain.com/server/user/"username"/calendar.ics I get the following error:
    Error on webcal://server.domain.com/server/user/"username"/calendar.ics: Not found

I am currently using Zimbra in secure only mode (port 443) as port 80 is being used by another server. This is what is leading me to think that that is actually the problem.

Anyone know how to tell Evolution to use secure mode? I've tried using webcals:// but it reverts to using webcal://

I'm not an Evolution expert but you should always test your URL's in the browser first (with http or https). For it to work you should be getting a Basic Auth user/password box (unless your logged in already) and with a successful pass you'll see the iCal data. If you get a 404 or some other error your URL is wrong and there's no way it will work in Evolution. So get the URL you like and then try different tests/prefixes of that URL in Evolution.

That's what I've done, and which is what leads me to believe that I need to tell Evolution to use webcal in secure mode rather than plain old naked webcal.

The problem is how, I've gone through the Evolution docs 4 times already and can't find anything I know that SUSE10.1/SLED10 has the option (saw it on one of the betas) but currently I can't find any option. Don't suppoe anyone knows do they?

I am also trying to sync the zimbra calendar with evolution.
    evolution is version 2.8.1
    zimbra is latest opensource edition.

evolution is telling me the format of the file is incorrect!
    is that normal?
