This happened with me once or twice, you have to make sure that your servers "ldap1.examble.com" and "mta1.examble.com" are sending the logs to the logger server mailbox1.examble.com.

You can check this buy looking at /var/log/maillog on mailbox1.examble.com for example, it should show the logs from mta1.examble.com.

If it does you have to clean and reinit the logger service on mailbox1.examble.com. Using this:
/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms -e -v
/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmloggerinit

Can get more details at: https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Configuring-Logger-Host

Your mta log server cannot send remote log to mailbox, depending your OS and syslog apps, you must open port 514 and on syslog configuration to allow remote log (something like /etc/rsyslog.conf) and then restart rsyslog services.

on mta and ldap server, do the following :

Code: Select all

su - zimbra
/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsyslogsetup
exit
service rsyslog restart

Don't forget to change rsyslog with your appropriate syslog software.

Thank vavai and ldiedrich!

I perform this flow guide https://wiki.zimbra.com/wiki/Configuring-Logger-Host, and then succeeded

Step-by-step guilde:

1. On the Mailbox1.examble.com (logger monitor host)
[root@mailbox1 ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)

[root@mailbox1 ~]# ps -ef | grep syslog
root 15830 1 0 10:53 ? 00:00:00 /usr/sbin/rsyslogd -n -r -m 0

su - zimbra
zmcontrol stop ; exit

[root@mailbox1 ~]# /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms -e -v

vi /etc/sysconfig/rsyslog
SYSLOGD_options="-r -m 0"

[root@mailbox1 ~]#/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsyslogsetup
[root@mailbox1 ~]#systemctl restart rsyslog

vi /etc/rsyslog.conf
$ModLoad imudp
$UDPServerRun 514

[root@mailbox1 ~]#systemctl restart rsyslog
su - zimbra
[zimbra@mailbox1 ~]$zmcontrol start
[zimbra@mailbox1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmloggerinit
[zimbra@mailbox1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmsshkeygen
[zimbra@mailbox1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmupdateauthkeys
[zimbra@mailbox1 ~]$zmprov gacf |grep zimbraLogHostname
[zimbra@mailbox1 ~]$ zmprov gacf |grep zimbraLogHostname
zimbraLogHostname: mailbox1.examble.com

--> OK

2. On the remote logger monitor host (ldap1,mta1)

LDAP1

[root@ldap1 ~]# su - zimbra
[zimbra@ldap1 ~]$ zmprov gacf |grep zimbraLogHostname
zimbraLogHostname: mailbox1.examble.com
[zimbra@ldap1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmsshkeygen
[zimbra@ldap1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmupdateauthkeys ; exit
[root@ldap1 ~]# /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsyslogsetup
updateSyslog: Updating /etc/rsyslog.conf...done.
[root@ldap1 ~]# systemctl restart rsyslog
[root@ldap1 ~]# su - zimbra
[zimbra@ldap1 ~]$ zmcontrol restart
Mta1

[root@mta1 ~]# su - zimbra
[zimbra@mta1 ~]$ zmprov gacf |grep zimbraLogHostname
zimbraLogHostname: mailbox1.examble.com
[zimbra@mta1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmsshkeygen
[zimbra@mta1 ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmupdateauthkeys ; exit
[root@mta1 ~]# /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsyslogsetup
updateSyslog: Updating /etc/rsyslog.conf...done.
[root@mta1 ~]# systemctl restart rsyslog
[root@mta1 ~]# su - zimbra

I had similar problem, /var/log/zimbra.log and zimbra_stats.log were empty.

These settings in /etc/logrotate.d/zimbra solved the problem:

Code: Select all

/var/log/zimbra.log {
    daily
    missingok
    notifempty
    create 0666 zimbra zimbra
    postrotate
      kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog*.pid 2> /dev/null` 2> /dev/null || true
      su - zimbra -c "/opt/zimbra/bin/zmconfigdctl restart" > /dev/null 2>&1 || true
      systemctl restart rsyslog > /dev/null 2>&1 || true
    endscript
    compress
}

/var/log/zimbra-stats.log {
    daily
    missingok
    notifempty
    create 0666 zimbra zimbra
    postrotate
      kill -HUP `cat /var/run/syslog*.pid 2> /dev/null` 2> /dev/null || true
      su - zimbra -c "/opt/zimbra/bin/zmconfigdctl restart" > /dev/null 2>&1 || true
      systemctl restart rsyslog > /dev/null 2>&1 || true
    endscript
    rotate 0
}

I added these lines to both record:
- create 0666 zimbra zimbra
- systemctl restart rsyslog > /dev/null 2>&1 || true

THANKS FOR EVERYBODY.

I loose several days to try to fix All server status showing red and (amavisd-new); dkim=neutral reason="invalid (public key: DNS error: query timed out)" without success, for my stand-alone server.

Using just the below commands of your Step-by-step guide, both was fixed:

1. On the Server
[root@zimbra ~]# cat /etc/redhat-release
CentOS Linux release 7.2.1511 (Core)

[root@zimbra ~]# ps -ef | grep syslog
root 27235 1 0 01:28 ? 00:00:02 /usr/sbin/rsyslogd -n

su - zimbra
zmcontrol stop ; exit

[root@zimbra ~]# /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmfixperms -e -v

[root@zimbra ~]#/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsyslogsetup
[root@zimbra ~]#systemctl restart rsyslog

[root@zimbra ~]#systemctl restart rsyslog
su - zimbra
[zimbra@zimbra ~]$zmcontrol start
[zimbra@zimbra ~]$/opt/zimbra/libexec/zmloggerinit
[zimbra@zimbra ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmsshkeygen
[zimbra@zimbra ~]$/opt/zimbra/bin/zmupdateauthkeys
[zimbra@zimbra ~]$ zmprov gacf |grep zimbraLogHostname
zimbraLogHostname: zimbra.examble.com

--> OK

I just register to thanks both you.

Once more, Thank you very much.
