ZCS Upgrade from 8.6 to 8.7 to 8.8

Postby thohoff2@web.de » Fri Mar 09, 2018 9:27 am

I am maintaining a Zimbra Collaboration Server version 8.6 on CentOS 6.6. Till now I only installed patches on the same version. Doing a general search on the internet on how to upgrade from version 8.6 I only found articles as “Migrating opensource Zimbra 8.6.0 on Centos 6.8 to Zimbra 8.7.1 on Centos 7 safely and with no downtime”, touching the target to migrate to a new server and not upgrading on the same one.

Which upgrade path I have to undertake, to upgrade from 8.6 (still patch level 7) on CentOS 6.6 to 8.7 and then to 8.8? Thank you for your patience, cause in the forum it might not be the first time to deal with.

Best regards,

If you don't want to upgrade from centos 6 to centos 7, you can do in place upgrade. If you want to move from centos 6 to 7, I think migrating to a new server is a better choice.
