Restoring from backup result empty mailbox

Postby Salva_savia » Thu Jun 05, 2014 11:41 am

Hi
I have ZCS Open 8.0.7
I do backups with a script that make
sudo -u zimbra /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com getRestURL "//?fmt=tgz" > user@domain.com.tgz
as result I have a tgz file with backup. If I decompress file, there are lot of files
When I do a restore test I do
sudo -u zimbra /opt/zimbra/bin/zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com postRestURL "//?fmt=tgz&resolve=reset" user@domain.com.tgz
Process finish successfully , without error
But when I enter user@domain.com mailbox thats empty, no mail items.... :?

Can you test to see if your export file is correct? You can test this by going into the user's account and importing the file via the web UI.

Try with resolve=skip
You can watch the differences beetween resolve arguments:
“skip” ignores duplicates of old items, it’s also the default conflict-resolution.

“modify” changes old items.

“reset” will delete the old subfolder (or entire mailbox if /).

“replace” will delete and re-enter them.
