ZCS 6.07 and Apple Addressbook Carddav

Postby stegbth » Sat Jul 10, 2010 8:47 am

Hallo Elliot,
the username user@comany.info doesnt work. AB.app shows circle with a wave a circle with an exclamation mark. When clicking on the wave the second circle is running about, after some seconds the two sign (wave and exclamation mark) shows up again. No connect to the server
best regards

thomas

ZCS 6.07 and Apple Addressbook Carddav

After upgrading to ZCS 6.0.7 I decided to play with this. Doesn't work for me, either. I should note that we use multiple domains with virtual domains configurated, but no combination seems to work. That includes
username: user

username: user@company.com

username: user@company.com

username: admin@zimbra.company.com (and administrator password)
The last two don't generate any errors in Address Book, but the lookups don't work, either.
In case it's relevant I have zmtlsctl set to redirect.

Oh, I guess it's this bug: Bug 46458 – CardDAV do not work on the non-default domains in Zimbra
Needs to be fixed by Apple.

I think this feature worked but had inconsistencies in it's implementation. Well, I just completed our server upgrade and tested it on the MAC and it works. Our server is currently running 6.0.8. See my steps below for the MAC
[1] Click on Address Book --> Preferences --> Accounts

[2] Click the + Button in the Accounts Section.

[3] Select CardDAV for Account type.

[4] Enter your Zimbra credentials
* User name:

* Password:

* Server Address::443
[5] Click on Create

[6] If the Verify Certificate Window appears, click on Continue else

[7] Close the window.
Hope this helps

We have noticed that we can't use the proxied/load balanced url when connected to carddav. Users have to point directly to their mailstore.
Obviously we don't want people doing that since most people won't know which mailstore they are on.
I have submitted a ticket on this.
Thanks,
Doug

Works">http://mailserver.com:443"

I don't understand either one of those servername formats. http with port 443?
Either way, I've tried all the permutations and our proxy hostname doesn't work but the actual servername does. Even then the Mac addressbook app seems to put in strange values for the server name and the path field if you close it and reopen it.
Thanks,
Doug

With Apple fixes like this are always a challenge, 10.6.5 came out and still nothing...
It's been a few months and chances are it will be at least a few more. Since AddressBook seems to accept
%40
in place of the
@
sign would Zimbra consider a work around the "at" sign to be escaped as part of a login?

You should mention that in the bug, and also via the support system if you're running NE.
