Last login date incorrect in Admin panel

Postby Miklos Kalman » Sun Feb 10, 2008 5:21 am

Hi,
Is it normal that the Admin panel shows and invalid date for the user's last login? Some of them don't even get updated, and the ones that do show invalid dates. Is there a setting that I am missing or is this a bug?
I am using Ubuntu 6.06LTS with Zimbra 5.02GA FOSS.
Thanks,

Miklos

I've noticed this also, it is saying "Never logged in" for users who have definitely logged in. In fact the only user with a last login time is the admin user and that also hasn't been updated for a while.

i found your thread when looking for an answer to this problem. Then I found this bug report. which fits for me. we're using external ldap auth.

Hmm, I'm using external Kerberos authentication. Maybe Kerberos suffers from the same bug.

I would imagine so. the reason the admin user shows correctly is cause it's created locally.

If Bug 24012 - "Last logged in" not updating when using external LDAP doesn't apply to you, check your zimbraLastLogonTimestampFrequency (default is 7d to cutdown on ldap writes every time you auth...)

You mean that the login time will only update every seven days? Could you explain how to check the zimbraLastLogonTimestampFrequency?
Thanks for the info!

su - zimbra

zmprov gacf | grep zimbraLastLogonTimestampFrequency
Set by:

zmprov mcf zimbraLastLogonTimestampFrequency 3d

if I set this to 1m would that cause problems? Is there a reason why this is set to 7 days by default?

It's your call - you can set it to values like: 1d, 1h, 1m, 1s, or 0 for disabled.
