webDAV shared briefcase folders

Postby dik23 » Mon Jul 04, 2011 6:16 am

I have no problem with files in my briefcase, only in shares.
Could you see if the problem exists with shares ? I notice you're running 7 and I'm aware that webDAV has been extended to add versioning. Surely versioning is used when multiple people are editing files and for that to happen the files will have to be shared.

There is also a relevant error in mailbox.log :
[btpool0-49://my.domain/dav/user2@my.domain/Briefcase/sub-folder/sub-folder2/document.txt] [name=user2@my.domain;aname=user@my.domain;ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx;ua=Jakarta Commons-HttpClient/3.0;] dav - sending http error 424 because: can't get destination collection

To avoid confusion this log was taken from my test machine so the usernames are different.
I have now opened a bug for this
Please vote if you'd like to see webDAV working properly

There is already one private bugreport for this with number 61459

Tested on 7.1.2_GA_3214.RHEL4_20110615211309 RHEL4 NETWORK and using Netdrive

1.3.0.2.

Few things observed were:

- Rename, copy, move delete of 'files' could be done for local briefcase files.

- Cannot rename any type of briefcase folder (local or mounted)

- Files in mounted shared folder with manager rights could not be renamed.
Confirming this as bug.

Thanks, I hope this is picked up on and fixed.
Why have private bug reports?
Doesn't seem very helpful. I have no way to view the bug you've mentioned.

So will my bug get marked as a duplicate of a bug I can't view ?
And what's the chances of this getting fixed in 6.x ?
Never submitted a bug report before, at least not for Zimbra.

webDAV shared briefcase folders

Thanks.. I hope so too. I think you guys are doing such a fantastic job here. It would be criminal if I dont contribute :)
I want to do a DropBox type of update for Zimbra. But there is a huge problem with WebDav on Win 7. The Shared Briefcase name gets appended to the name of the file.
So if I have a shared Briefcase called Share and there is a help.txt in it. The file name shown in Windows is called sharehelp.txt....if i need to perform any operation on it I need to remove the name share so copy help.txt ... if this is fixed then life is very cool. I can create an application (Open Source) for Zimbra DropBox ... which syncs and everything... and space is unlimited... (to what you set your limit on Zimbra for...)
Hope the idea's good
Best regards,

Prashanth

Any idea of the chances of this fix being applied to 6.x ?

@prashanth1k
I think this maybe an issue with the Windows impersonation of webDAV since I have not such issue when using Linux - I use a 3rd party webDAV app when using Windows.
