do i need to create one spam/ham accounts per domain?

Postby gusans » Sat Feb 07, 2015 2:44 pm

hi, i need some help to ensure my settings are ok,

i have one domain created during installation 'mail.mydomain.com' and then i created another domain 'mydomain.com' and imported the users accounts on that domain. then i configured mydomain.com as default.
now adjusting spam settings, and searching users under admin console i can see the spam/ham accounts like 'spam.snwnql5t@mail.mydomain.com' but there is not an 'spam@mydomain.com' account for the second domain. is that correct? or do i have to create another spam/ham account for mydomain.com?

i tried running 'zmtrainsa' and it seems to run fine, here is the output:

20150207182305 Starting spam/ham extraction from system accounts.
[] INFO: Total messages processed: 523
[] INFO: Total messages processed: 0
20150207182314 Finished extracting spam/ham from system accounts.

Learned tokens from 461 message(s) (461 message(s) examined)
Learned tokens from 0 message(s) (0 message(s) examined)

thanks in advance.

i'm thinking autolearn is not working as it should.

marked some spam days ago, but i keep receiving from the same spammers.

could it be the spam/ham account previously described?

i don't know how to configure the systems accounts spam/ham for the domain i'm using.

thanks Raghuram,

already tried following that how-to, but i think it's not related to the spam/ham accounts.

currently, when i tag an email as spam received in user@mydomain.com it goes to the spam.xxxx@mail.mydomain.com account.

also, the zmtrainsa command seems to proccess the spam just find. but then i keep receiving the same spam on the inbox instead of spam folder.

Hi gusans,

Can you please share with us the result of zmcontrol -v

zmtrainsa doesn't work properly in 8.5, so if you have 8.5, is better upgrade to 8.6

Hi gusans

when you mark an email as spam, that report will be sent to spam.xx@mail.domain.com, but you still receive mail from that address mail. I think because of server's handling mechanism. Server has some rules, and it is based on the priority level to decide which email address/ip/... spam or not spam and should block it.

But currently I still don't know exactly how server do to decide to block an email address that was marked as spam from users' reports.

Anyone can explain details to me?

Thank you.
