ZimbraAccountName - restrictions

Postby KarthickJ » Tue Jun 23, 2015 11:32 am

Hi,

Is there any restriction for creating zimbra user name / Account name.

Say i have created an account with mail = "#1test@test.com" Is this ok. Or do we have any limits like a email address do not start with special characters.

I am using ZCS 8.0.7. and in which i am allowed to create a user like this. But while the user uses the webmail. After loading the page it shows error as below,

A network service error has occurred.
msg: A network service error has occurred.
code: CSFE_SVC_ERROR
detail: HTTP response status 400

ZimbraAccountName - restrictions

Hi Karthick,

I think there is no way to use special characters in the accounts name, probably because the Internationalized Email support. As far as I know Zimbra as most of the servers currently doesn't support it.

The Zimbra MTA (Postfix) implemented it only in version 3.0.

In fact, if special characters are not supported, it should not allow to create accounts with any special character.
