Necessary bandwidth for zimbra 8.5

Postby marciogentil » Thu Aug 27, 2015 9:17 pm

Gentlemen, I deployed an zimbra with 5000 e-mail accounts. Could you tell me or help me to calculate the Internet bandwidth required for this amount of accounts? A 10 Mbps link would be needed?
I will use only one server. Thank you. Marcio

Hi Marcio,

This all depends of how many active users you have, how much emails they sent, which what size, etc. I strongly recommend you monitor your network Bandwidth with Nagios or something, to be aware of the real data.

Or even simpler:

10Mbps sounds reasonable, but again, it will always depends of the amount of simultaneous users, etc. I really hope you installed Proxy and Memcached as well.

Best regards

dear George, good morning. Thank you for your help. Saw that you mentioned proxy and mencached. This server I gave the example will be unique. All zimbra the functions are on the same server. That would be a good practice for this amount accounts? Thank you. Marcio
