Windows Update KB3163018 broke outlook

Postby qwerty.yp » Thu Jun 16, 2016 12:31 am

Hi,

I'm new here but have been using Zimbra for a while.

Just a heads up. This afternoon we started getting calls from Windows 10 users that they suddenly could not connect to our email server.

During troubleshooting we got this message in the outlook connection box.

"Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): General authentication failed. None of the authentication methods supported by your IMAP server (if any) are supported on this computer."

Turns out Windows Update installed a bunch of fixes on some machines last night. When we uninstalled KB3163018 Outlook started working again.

We are using an older version with a self-signed certificate and we need to do some updating, but that's not really the point.

Just in case someone else is in this boat...

We uninstalled the update and used Microsoft's tool (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 ) to hide that update.

Users are all functional again, guess it's time to do some updating of Zimbra.

Hi,

What is the ZCS version you are using on your end ? Please provide us the zmcontrol -v output so that we can check the same.
