User Mailbox statistics

Postby rsmith999 » Wed Aug 10, 2016 11:19 pm

All -

I am looking for a way (admin console or script) that will allow me to gather user mailbox statistics.
Specifically - user name, e-mail address, # e-mail sent, # e-mail received.

I have searched ad nauseum and cannot find an answer to this one. I am aware of the daily e-mail that lists top senders but I need to run this over a timeframe and/or lifetime of the server (it's 2 years old).
Is there a database field somewhere I can query to gather the information? I don't mind manually compiling this as it is a one time deal.

I suppose there is no secret place, where all this information collected.

Sending email :
1) add strings to log file (/var/log/maillog and /var/log/zimbra.log)
2) and (sometimes) adds message to a user folder

If you have not collected log files for 2 years,
and user have not collected all messages sent,
- then there is no way to count.

There is no 'secret place' for the mail counts, you'd have to produce them from the log files. As you've mentioned, unless you've kept the files for two years then you're out of luck. You can either put a mail gateway in front of ZCS that has a feature for collecting stats or forward the log files to a central syslog server and produce the information from that.
