Scope of data in redologs

Postby 6125amartin » Mon Sep 26, 2016 5:35 pm

What exactly is the scope of data contained in the redologs? Does it contain changes to the store, mysql, and LDAP?

IF I were to stop zimbra at night, rsync /opt/zimbra to another server, and then save off a copy of /opt/zimbra/redolog during the day while zimbra is running, could I replay the redolog to bring the second server fully up-to-date?

redolog records what happens in a mailbox for a day.

Yes, but is this the contents of MariaDB + /opt/zimbra/store + LDAP changes? Or only some of these?

As far as I know, it is just a content that provides the necessary information to replay actions into a mailbox from a full/incremenatl backup till a specific time.
