Canot start zimbra 8 -> change hostname

Sorry my english.

I change hostname:

$ /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsetservername -n domain.com


But canot start:

Code: Select all

$zmcontrol start
   Starting ldap...Done.
Size error: Unable to determine enabled services from ldap.
Enabled services read from cache. Service list may be inaccurate.

I solution the problem: go back to old host name.

Zimbra change the name server from settings but not from cn ldap services. Canot change the server name, need change it manually from ldap and change in zimbra and restart.

I would suggest you have a full and complete understanding of exactly what you're doing before you use a powerful tool like zmsetservername. Specifically here, you would absolutely not want to use domain.com as your servername. A server name comprises, at minimum, a hostname followed by the domain name. i.e. zimbra.domain.com I would say that at no point have we ever tested just using domain.com as the servername, and I would expect that that almost certainly would not work properly.
