We are using Thunderbird 45.6.0 and Outlook 2016 over Zimbra IMAP. Thunderbird is configured like IMAP 993 SSL/TLS and SMTP 587 STARTTLS. After Thunderbird and Outlook has been opened for a long time (some 6 hours), we get errors on random workstations on random time.
Thunderbird error is like “Server has disconnected. The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem” and “There was an error saving the message to Sent. Retry?” and “Copy failed to Sent folder”.
Outlook stuck on sync folders and Outlook log file have error record: “Your server unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity.” But in this time Zimbra server is UP, ping is UP, POP is working, Web client is working fine, Zimbra log is clean.
Looks like Zimbra disconnect some IMAP sessions or timeout some connections or something like that. Is there some Zimbra IMAP settings to configure session variables (timeout, cache, e.t.c)? Or what could be the problem? After restarting Thunderbird and Outlooks, everything is working fine for some hours and then randomly workstations get these errors. Zimbra server have 2 CPUs and 8 GB RAM, server load is about 0.25, RAM used 6 GB.
