Is your localconfig still here ?
can you test with zmlocalconfig command and check if the Zimbra LDAP password is still here also ?

It looks to have the files saved still in localconfig.xml
zmlocalconfig command shows passwords with *

zmlocalconfig -s to show password in clear text.
You should check if all ldap password are OK.
You can do this by using ldapsearch command.

Running it with -a shows the passwords for it.
ldapsearch
ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

That seems to return that error.

Sadly I'm not sure when checking status it shows it.

zimbra@mx:~/bin$ ldap status
slapd running pid: 20206
zimbra@mx:~/bin$ ldap restart
Killing slapd with pid 20206 done.
Started slapd: pid 21927
zimbra@mx:~/bin$ ldapsearch status
ldap_sasl_interactive_bind_s: Can't contact LDAP server (-1)

Sadly the tech who setup this for us is on vacation at the moment as well :(

Thanks it's still rather new for me.

zmcontrol status
Search error: Unable to determine enabled services from ldap.
Unable to determine enabled services. Cache is out of date or doesn't exist.

This is what the output of that command provides.

I'm not sure what you were trying to do with that ldapsearch command (perhaps you meant to type (ldap status?) but it's an incorrect command format and will always give that response. If you want to see the status of ZCS then just run the "zmcontrol status" and do you see any errors in the log files when you restart ZCS?

@phoenix : I asked for it to check if his ldap connexion was OK after it was started.
