Good day everyone!
would like to ask if it is possible to copy the whole /opt directory using this method without any issues? for backup and restore purposes
1. telnet using putty
2. stop zimbra services
3. sftp using winscp
4. from winscp, copy the whole /opt directory to PC
anyone tried this kind of method?
i read on wiki, and i think all backups in FOSS edition are manual?
and needed to stop zimbra services, is there a more automated way and where there is no down time?
Zimbra Open Source backup tru SSH, WINSCP?
Re: Zimbra Open Source backup tru SSH, WINSCP?
scp kills hardlinks, you should not use it to "backup" /opt/zimbra.
You'd rather use other tools (rsync, tar, etc), with ZCS services stopped and do something special about the LDAP files (don't "backup" the sparse file, do a LDIF dump).
IIRC there are several ways/solutions/suggestions to do such kind of "backup" in the wiki.
