Error Msg: com.zimbra.cs.mailbox.MailServiceException: cannot modify immutable object

Postby jnadler » Wed Jun 22, 2011 12:27 pm

About once per day I receive an email with the subject = Server Failure Notice that contains a source object and a error_report.xml file that looks like:
com.zimbra.cs.mailbox.MailServiceException: cannot modify immutable object: 46581 ExceptionId:btpool0-52504://mail.teladoc.com/service/soap/SaveDraftRequest:1308756864583:a16b14e5b06d0655 Code:mail.IMMUTABLE_OBJECT Arg:(itemId, IID, "46581") at com.zimbra.cs.mailbox.MailServiceException.IMMUTABLE_OBJECT(MailServiceException.java:379) at ...
Full file below.
Any ideas what this message means?
Thanks,

Jeff

You should update your forum profile with the output of the following command (do not post the output in this thread):
zmcontrol -v
You should also post the exact version of the ZCO that you're using.
Regards

I am getting these too. My ZCO is version 7.1.1.6324. I am attaching an error report. As a quick fix I will try editing the registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREimbra urnOffInboxFailures but it would be nice to know what object id=6759, why is it immutable, and why does SaveDraft fail so spectacularly.

We are getting complaints about this from customers - one in particular is seeing this for 3 or 4 users who are all getting lots of failures a day. Latest complaint was with ZCO 7.1.0.6315 against ZCS 7.1.0. We used to see this against 6x as well, but never thought it was serious.

Any virus checking going on? Sometimes this can happen when a virus checker tries to update a message. They try to add "scanned" flags, etc.
