Google address book synchronization failed

Postby britechguy » Fri Jan 09, 2015 10:56 am

Hello, I'm new to Zimbra and am "bumping" this thread because I am having the same problem. I have installed Zimbra and have three Gmail accounts set up in it. All seemed to set up just fine and my initial synchronization of contacts definitely worked because I have all the contacts that I defined in each account along with any contacts that were simply e-mailed but that I didn't create a specific entry for.

One of the three accounts, which happens to be the "top mailbox" in the list of three is working just fine and has since I installed Zimbra and did the initial setup. However, the two mailboxes that follow are getting the dreaded "Google address book synchronization failed," every time a sync is attempted. This builds up hundreds of messages in very short order. I have 783 in one account and 618 in the other (where I deleted some early on).

Has any definitive fix been found for this error. It continues to be reported again and again and I have to believe that a workaround exists.

Here are two of the reports, one from each Gmail account, with my actual prefix to @gmail.com removed:

Any assistance with solving this would be very much appreciated. The fact that one account works and the other two don't suggests to me that this can't be a firewall issue and since I can retrieve e-mail and have synchronized contacts once it's not an account login error, either.
