I really like the idea of Zimbra Desktop, but it is flawed in so many ways that it almost makes it unusable.
Once you've navigated your way around the initial sign in & connecting your account ( I have a Google hosted domain), so instead of using the GMail sign in (because it didn't work repeatedly ) I used the imap settings instead.
Great, up and running, desktop now receiving emails :)
Now to sync calendars. Not a chance. When i made an entry & saved it, it just disappears!! Nothing from my google calendar has been sync'd either (Yes it's public & I know it's being shared, as it is working in Outlook)
Next the function which I really liked the idea of: Social media. So I read the instructions to download the Zimlet, then upload the ZIP file to the Zimbra desktop. Do all that, Zimbra acknowledges I've done it, restarts to activate zimlet and nothing changes (even checked the preferences to activate & nothing there)
There are other niggles as well ie the reading pane keeps resetting the width etc
I really like the idea of Zimbra, but unfortunately a browser & Outlook are far more dependable.
