WebDAV and Briefcase
WebDAV and Briefcase
OK, I think I'm doing this right, but ...
I'm running Mac OS 10.5.2 and trying to mount my briefcase as a drive. Per suggestions throughout this thread I've typed in:
https://my.server.com/service/dav/username
https://my.server.com/service/dav/username@my.server.com
https://my.server.com/service/dav/username%40my.server.com
It appears to connect fine, prompts me about my self-signed cert, makes me type in my username and password, accepts it, and then my Mac tells me:
You cannot connect to this server because it cannot be found on the network. Try again later or try a different URL.
If it can't be found on the network, then it seems the server wouldn't prompt me for my username and password, so that doesn't seem likely. Should the URL be different from my examples above? I have multiple domains on this server.
Thanks in advance for any help with this.

Same here for me on Mac OSX 10.5.2. Using Finder I get the same error as above, after authentication.
I have also tried to connect via safari, and Firefox, and I'm prompted to authenticate but then receive just a blank screen with this:
If">https://server/service/dav/jim@domain/Briefcase
If I omit the "Briefcase" then I receive a screen listing like a debug type of report.
I've tried it via the public side and via a VPN as well.

WebDAV and Briefcase
Same here. I have found that with 5.0.5 on OSX 10.5.2
https://server/service/dav/user/Briefcase
does not work.
However the following DO work:
https://server/dav/user
https://server/dav/user/Briefcase
I haven't tested for spaces in the file names and last time I tried from XP was on 5.0.0 and that didn't work then.
Anyone game?

I've played some more and found those last two command do work BUT I don't see what I would like to see. In the first, I see only two shared calenders from another user and no other information. I can browse into those folders and see the associated .ics files.
In the second, I see the documents within that folder but not all the documents. All documents with gif eps and jpg extensions do not show up. Most other docs do, like ods pdf and xls. I haven't compared the names to see if it is "space" related or not.

I get the full folder list as shown on the first page of this thread. Are you logging into your own account or someone else's that you have partial rights to?
I just copied a jpg file in and can view it both through webDAV and through Zimbra's web client. I did take care to remove all spaces first as I am not game enough to try it on our new production machine.

I'm logged into my account and really don't see anything. I am running 5.0.2... maybe that is the issue.
I did download a graphic with the AJAX client then try to copy it up. I received a message that the file existed and did I want to replace. I selected Yes and then received an error:
Operation cannot be completed because one or more items cannot be found (error code -43)

Perhaps there is some option I need to set in my browser.
Does anyone know?

WebDAV and Briefcase
Thanks to John Munro's comment:
However the following DO work:
https://server/dav/user
https://server/dav/user/Briefcase
... I now get WebDAV to work on Mac OS 10.5.3.
HOWEVER, when i log in I see all the folders that I would expect and I can see documents in the first level of folders, BUT I can't see any subfolders underneath any of the first level of folders.
Does this have anything to do with the following bug?
Bug 28408 – Invalid request while attempting to access sub folder of shared briefcase
