Yes, that explains it, the change with 8.5 and above to use lmdb. Editing the files as per previous articles didn't allow the ability. I've just done the zmprov . Now will restart and see if it's working normally.

Seems to be working fine. I've verified phoenix's post as the answer to this thread because I followed the instructions there. Zimbra mta restarted, and sending/receiving emails is fine, no server 451 error now. So something changed, but at least it's working. Cannot say for sure if they are blocked yet, until I check the logs, and have no idea when that spammer will email.

You need to use "ldmb:" instead of "hash:" in 8.5+

Unfortunately from the article linked it also doesn't work. Added this line:

zmprov mcf +zimbraMtaRestriction 'check_recipient_access lmdb:/opt/zimbra/conf/postfix_sender_checks'

and an email arrived today from a domain that was supposed to be rejected.

I have similar questions. I am using Zimbra mail server "8.0.7.GA.6021.UBUNTU12.64 UBUNTU12_64 FOSS edition".

Some specific sender, let's say from abusive.user@gmail.com is sending unwanted e-mails to my domain. How to block this user, actually reject all his e-mails automatically, so they are not delivered to my user's accounts'?

I tried with adding

read_hash(%blacklist_sender, '/opt/zimbra/conf/blacklist');

to the file /opt/zimbra/conf/amavisd.conf.in.

In /opt/zimbra/conf/blacklist I added abusive.user@gmail.com, restarted zmamavisdctl, but nothing happens - mails are still coming.

Any solution?

1. In 8.0.7 there was no LDAP attribute, the check had to be added manually to the .in file.

2. In 8.0.7 they were not using lmdb yet (IIRC, double check to confirm).

3. That's not the right syntax for the file

Hi, how to manually add the check to the .in file? I mean, what exactly should I add?
