Other Email Systems Sent Folder under Inbox Issue

Postby Jack221144 » Tue May 20, 2014 10:32 am

I use Zimbra Web Interface with Network Solutions IMAP email account. That system puts SENT and TRASH under INBOX. Zimbra Web shows those folders but puts SENT email in my Primary zMailCloud Sent folder. Zimbra Desktop shows all the IMAP folders but puts a sent mail in the top level Sent in the Network Solutions account. Is there no way to correct these problems?

You're referencing Zimbra Web Interface and Zimbra Desktop? Which one are you using?
If it's a Zimbra Web Interface, then when you add the Network Solutions IMAP account, you're only setting the incoming mail account, and outgoing mail still goes through the primary Zimbra account, hence the existence of the two Sent folders. You could conceivably create an outgoing filter to move the sent messages to the 'other' Sent folder, but I'm not sure if that's exactly what you would expect.
If you're using Zimbra Desktop, when you setup the account you also specify the 'sending server'. This means that outgoing messages can go out as though they were from that account, not the primary Zimbra account. In that case, the two Sent folders can each be populated by the account they're connected to, and I'm not sure there's a clear reason to change that.
Let me know if this helps to clarify the situation.

Thanks for clearing up my confusion. I am using both ZD and ZWI. I am going back to using Thunderbird since I have to manage multiple email accounts and it allows me to specify SENT, TRASH, DRAFTS folder to match Network Solutions folder structure (I sometime use Network Solutions web gui too). I will use iPhone mail for mobile use since it allows same as Thunderbird and individual WEB account logins as needs be.
Thanks
