Default CalHelper.exe - Maxed CPU / Memory Eater

I took down Zimbra about a week and a half ago and didn't disable the BES before doing so and Calendar items stopped synchronizing. This seems to always happen if I jiggle the handle on Zimbra without first asking the BES for permission first ...

Anyways, so I reboot the BES and I could have had a turtle move faster.

CalHelper had eaten almost all the available memory on the machine, but was slowly regurgitating it until everything was back to normal.

I checked online and found this article on the problem ... but I haven't done anything to the CDO.dll file to warrant that problem.

Anyone else have this problem while working with the BES?

This never happened to me. Perhaps repair of BES connector can help.

-stop BB controller, stop BB manager
-repair connector (go to add/remove programs, step on ZCB ->Change->Repair)
    -start BB controller

Hi euegener, thanks for the response. Sorry, I started a new thread and forgot to post a link back.. I figured this thread was dead and my problem changed shape a bit, anyway.

That was one of the first things I tried.

In the end, it sounds like it was a corrupt BlackBerryServer.zdb file that was causing the issue, though I didn't and still haven't found anything in any logs that would indicate that. I guess you can read in the other thread, but the size of BlackBerryServer.zdb then started climbing out of control until it filled the disk the day after I posted that.

In case if you still have problems with zdb size, please try to rename extention of offending file to pst, open it up with Outlook and then compact it. Please see the following article for details:

How to compact the personal folders (.pst) files in Outlook

In addition, if problem persist, please opne support case for this.

Unfortunately, I do have an open support case about this and haven't heard anything back since yesterday...

I'll try this. Thanks for the suggestion.

In case if compacting of pst file does not help, the next step would be to try opening up 'BlacKBerryServer' profile with Outlook and manually deleting messages that have big attachments or messages that are more than 30 days old.

    - stop BB controller, BB manager
    - open up 'BlackBerryServer' profile with Outlook
    - remove big/old messages from the 'inbox' of besadmin account
    - start BB controller
