    Default Tried This...any thoughts/suggestions?

I created 2 new users with mail accounts– blackberryserver and blackberrymanager

Created 2 new mail profiles on the server with zimbra collaboration suite – blackberryserver and blackberrymanager

Tried to install Exchange Mapi/CDO – received an error message- “cannot be installed with outlook

Ran the BES installation again – receive the same MAPI error

Default Well I got it installed

I managed to get it completely installed

It's even supposedly syncing my GAL, as blackberry server configuration sees it in the mapi profile configuration.

Only issue is when I try to add a user it doesn't work -- I'm assuming its because my GAL isn't synced, but its not very big. If I stop the BB controller service and open outlook I can navigate to the GAL -- but that doesn't necessarily mean it's sync'd to the computer.

I'll give it a little bit and let you guys know my findings tomorrow.

I got this when creating the two profiles after adding the ZCB using a Zimbra Collaboration Server in the mail settings. Doesn't seem to matter which account I use. You guys have this problem at all?

When setting up the profile I had to do hostname:7071 and use SSL

The username also has to be a Zimbra admin

I have yet to be able to add any users to it. No matter what it can't query my GAL just says it can't find anybody -- but BES sees that zimbra GAL in the profile. My guess is BES Express and Bes 5.0 are using information from the GAL that the old ZBC isn't passing

That worked. Thanks. I tried for a while and that did it. I went into outlook and I am able to see everyone in my AD. However I'm stuck again during the BES install for the microsoft AD settings. We don't have an AD or even a DOMAIN here, just a local workgroup. I'd like to get to the point that you are at to verify the same issue.

I am assuming you have AD as your LDAP?

No because we have smb/openldap running the show.

    Default Not for zimbra

We're not using AD integration into Zimbra, however, yes AD is our primary LDAP for workstations -- that is likely why it let me install.

Why I can't add mailboxes though is a different story since it's pulling that, or supposed to be, pulling that information from the GAL

Goto Control Panel - Mail - create BlackberryServer / BlackberryManager
Set BlackberryServer as the default and open Outlook to get GAL

    Install BES
After SRP remove the local address book, leave the GAL address book.

I've been able to get BES 5.0 installed with the instructions VTC gave, but I'm unable to search any of the users in the Blackberry Administration Service. Has anyone gotten there's linked to their GAL.
