    Default Calendar Sync Issues

    Hello,

    We recently setup a new BES server with the Zimbra connector and seem to be running into one slight issue with the calendar.

    Events created on the device show up in zimbra just fine. However, modifications to events made on the device do not. For example if I create an event called "Conference Call" on my device, then change it to "Meet in A building" my calendar in Zimbra will show the event, but it will stay as "Conference Call".

    Oddly, if I stop services and open Outlook (on the BES Server) then the event is renamed properly. But it stays with the original "Conference Call" name for the end user. I'm giving it atleast 15 minutes for any updates to take place, it just never happens. This applies to Outlook on the users desktop as well as when viewing the calendar in the web interface.

    Any help appreciated.

    How do I fix the "User Awaiting Moderation" ? Do I need to verify our purchase some how? I'm not real familiar with Zimbra itself, I just handle the Blackberry server side of the house.

    In accordance with the quick test that i did on my device this functionality should generally work. I guess there is something special about your environment that blocks propagation of changes to calendar events over to zimbra server. Please try these steps as a possible solution:

    -stop BB controller
    -terminate all processes with names OUTLOOK.exe or CalHelper.exe
    -start BB controller

    If this does not fix the problem, please open support case(support@zimbra.com) and attach zcb logs covering period of time when calendar event was created and modified on device.

    Just an update, updating BES to the latest service pack fixed this problem.

    What was the exact version of the service pack?

    It was Service pack 7 with none of the maintenance releases

    4.1 SP7 is is not recommended.


    Are you having problems with SP7 or is it working fine for you? Is it recommended that we stay with 4.1.6 for the time being even though our users keep losing their calendar synchronization?

    We're having the same issue here. It only syncs from Zimbra to device but not the other way around. We're still running ZCS5.20. I'd love to hear if you figure out the problems.

    Contact Zimbra and get the latest BES connector. I have the 5.0.23 Connector and it seems to be running much better, without any users complaining about missing events for several weeks now.

    Do you think without upgrading to 5.23, I can get a way with BES connector 5.23?
