    Default ZCO stops syncing

    I've noticed this on several machines, with both 5.02 builds of the ZCO that I have tried, that at random times, Outlook 2007 will stop sending and receiving emails, even if it says it successfully sent and received. Since I have not seen a similar bug in the bugzilla, I wouldn't be surprised if this still occurred in 5.03. This is a very serious issue since users think they are not receiving email when they are. I will get logs the next time I run across the problem.

    The following errors seem to coincide:

    Zimbra::Store::ZimbraMessage::GetProps. dumping prop values retrieved for this message:
    Named Property (4 Char String) PT_ERROR MAPI_E_NOT_FOUND


    Going to look at the logs more before I submit anything.

    Default outlook 2007

    i have the same problems here.
    Afther a while oullok 2007 stops syncronising, but i don't get errors.
    When i completely reboot the machine, everythings works...for a few hours.

    You don't need to reboot... just open outlook 2007 after the OUTLOOK.EXE process finishes running.

    I thought I was going insane because I couldn't find any other posts on this issue.

    I don't know what you mean by that.
    If i just close outlook 2007 and open it again, there is no sync.
    it has to be a bug

    got it
    kill the proces outlook.exe in the task manager and open outlook 2007 again
    indeed...it's working ...
    nevertheless ..it's a problem.
    Could it be because i use a 64bit system ? Or is this a stupid remark ?

    I have two users (so far) with the problem: Outlook syncs automatically, then stops. They can press F9 ("send/receive all") to manually sync, however.

    Outlook 2003 with all patches
    Windows XP with all patches
    Zimbra connector 5.0.3

    Our outlook won't even sync if you do it manually.

    Since it's not just one or two people with the issue, I think Zimbra should make a bandaid patch... it might not fix the underlying problem, but it will reduce the impact... and I'll propose it again.

    Have ZCO close the connection with the server and open it on every send and receive... whether it is an automatic send and receive based on the outlook settings or manually by pressing F9 or the send/receive button.

    The only problem I could see with that is if you are on an extremely slow connection and you are receiving or sending an email with a huge attachment that takes more time that what the automatic sync is set to.

    Maybe you could throw in some logic that says if there is a send/receive currently in progress, you don't break the connection.

    However, I think we can all agree that this is a major issue that is affecting more than one or two people.

    have you checked to see if outlook was put in offline mode due to an rpc error or something?

    I have left Outlook 2007 running for 2 weeks now with the logging on (Outlook has not been closed for 2 weeks) and have not been able to repro the problem. However, other users have been encountering the issue (as have I with my laptop, which does not have logging enabled).

    Something in the logging code is preventing the bug.
