    Default GAL Problems

    Hey folks,

    Several of our users are having issues with their GALs not staying synced. Some of them don't get the new users that we add to the system and others are losing massive amounts of the address list. What should be a list of over 100 names has shrunk down to 10 names on some PCs.

    Is there a way to force Outlook to re-sync the GAL without having to re-sync the entire connector? Our users have e-mail stores that are larger than 2GB a piece and re-syncing the whole thing takes over an hour.

    Help?

    there have been a couple of bugs around gal sync. if you wait for the 5.0.9 connector...they should be resolved.
    btw, what version of ZCO are you currently using? How large is your GAL?

    You can try Tools->Send Receive->Update Global Address List

    Alee,

    Thanks for the fast response. Some of our users are running the 4.5 Connector. Others are running the 5.05 connector. We're using Zimbra Server 5.05. We haven't migrated everyone over to the current connector yet because of all of the trouble it seems to be causing. I've been told to use the new 5.06 connector, but then folks tell me, "You shouldn't really use a connector that's newer than your server version."

    So I'm a little stumped. And as an aside, telling the IT Director "Stick it out. They'll update soon," is not an option that I'd like to explore.
